It's been a while... (Last Week and Weekend Recap)

It's been a while since my last post.. and let me tell you.. I've been BUSY!

Let me re-cap the week..

Last Monday and Tuesday nights after work I made pickles.. Dills and Sweet Mixed! Yummy!

Wednesday night was the night of the accident on the Knight Road. 3 local teens were killed on "Thrill Hill". Something that still doesn't seem real. What an uneasy feeling it is in your stomach when you know that it was local people, but don't know "who" it was until a short time after.. my hearts still pour out to all of the families affected. I don't know how someone can cope with such an unexpected event.

Thursday night - can't remember..

Friday night we as a "family" went camping - Me, Justin and Rosko... this is our "On Our Way" picture.. I'm not good at holding the camera and taking self portraits, and I actually think this is a horrible pic, but it's the only one I have..

As you can see, Rosko ducked out of the pic at the last second. Justin is driving. We're on our way to Cambridge. LONG WAY to go camping, eh? I think it's 8 minutes from our house! Oh well.. we took the dog, and wanted to start out small. Baby steps.. baby steps..

I wish I would have taken a pic of the truck before we left. It was priceless! We had the back of the truck STUFFED full.. our big BBQ, bags of Blankets, Camping Gear, Cooler, etc..etc..

Then.. we had the 4-Wheeler on the trailer behind the truck, with boards of wood stuffed underneath.

You see.. we were going to the Mic-Mac to help Jena & Tim set up the "shelter" for their stag/stagette party on Saturday night.. as Lilah called them.. the "Trailer Park Boys" at work..

This is the "shelter" they built.. Inventive they were.. they covered it in a tarp, just incase we had a "sparatic" rain fall.. After that, we cooked supper (BBQ Hotdogs) and had a campfire.. and made smores.. mmm good!

Can't really see this picture well.. it was about 10pm when I took it..

It was the funniest thing when we went to bed. Remember, we had the dog with us.. and it was his first camping experience.

It took him a while to get settled, and realize that yes, we were all sleeping on the ground, and no there wasn't a lot of room for him to stretch out.
About 2am I woke up to hear someone outside of our tent calling for their dog. I think they let it out to pee, and it ran off.. so this is how the conversation went..

Man looking for dog - "Here fluffy (can't remember dog's name), Here fluffy... *whistle* *whistle*, here fluffy, come on fluffy..

Rosko - WOOF WOOF

If Fluffy was anywheres near, I'm sure that she would have ran further away.. Rosko's bark just echoed in the campground. I thought he would have woke everyone up.. Justin didn't hear it (and he was in the tent), and Tim Jena & Lilah never heard a thing.. (they were beside us).

Saturday we got up, and went home to have breakfast and showers and change (the benefits of camping 10 min away from home). Lilah and I went Yard Saleing.. didn't get much.

Saturday afternoon we came back to the campground, had Elkie's Sausages for supper, and got prepared for the evening's events.. Jena & Tim's Stag/Stagette Party.. Karaoke with Anna.

This is Jena before...
I don't have an after picture.. wish I did!

Here's a pic of the evening.. Jerry, Jena & Brent singing..

Sunday.. didn't do too much.. we never packed up and left the campground until about noon!

I'll do another post about Monday.. this is way long
